The United States is where two of salsa's global timings were born — New York's mambo-rooted On2 and Los Angeles' On1 — and West Coast Swing is homegrown too. Today bachata and salsa split the calendar almost evenly, with social parties running somewhere every night of the week: Mondays at The Continental Club in Los Angeles, Bachata City Wednesday in Rockville, Noche Blanca Salsa Thursdays in Chicago, and Sensual Bachata NYC's Saturday social in New York. Out west, Portland pairs Norse Hall's Saturday salsa and bachata party with the Son Latino Sunday Social, while Austin, Houston, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Boston keep their own weekly rotations.
