Some other spots to dance
From Almagro to Saavedra: a week of socials
Most of the salsa and bachata week in Buenos Aires runs through one address: Yatay 961 in Almagro, home of the dance hall La Salsera. It stacks three named nights back to back — Se Picó on Thursdays, La Gran Noche on Fridays and Sábado Salsero on Saturdays — each mixing salsa and bachata on the same floor, with music going into the early morning. On Wednesdays the hall turns over to tango for Oli Milonga. Monday belongs to the north of the city, where Lunes de Salsa takes over JOE BAR BSAS in Saavedra. That adds up to five fixed social nights a week across two venues — salsa leading, bachata close behind, and a weekly milonga in between.
Se Picó on Thursdays
The Thursday social at La Salsera in Almagro opens the weekend early — salsa and bachata sets on one floor at Yatay 961.
Weekend at La Salsera
La Gran Noche on Friday and Sábado Salsero on Saturday keep the Almagro hall dancing until the early morning, switching between salsa and bachata.
Lunes de Salsa at JOE BAR BSAS
Monday nights move to Saavedra, where JOE BAR BSAS hosts the city's start-of-week salsa social.
Oli Milonga on Wednesdays
Midweek the Yatay 961 floor changes tempo: Oli Milonga brings tango to La Salsera every Wednesday.
Bachata in Buenos Aires
Bachata rides alongside salsa here — Se Picó, La Gran Noche and Sábado Salsero all run bachata sets through the night.
