El Encuentro, established in 1999, is the longest-running milonga in Southern California, hosted by Angel Echeverria and Julie Friedgen at The Tango Room in Sherman Oaks on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday. Buffet, free parking and frequent performances by world-class dancers; official close at 3 AM. In winter the class is at 8 PM and the milonga starts at 9 PM.
